Nicola Spaldin received the Swiss Science Prize Marcel Benoist

Nicola Spaldin, Professor of Materials Theory at the ETH Zurich and member of the MaNEP Steering Comittee received the Swiss Science Prize Marcel Benoist for her ground-breaking research into multiferroic materials, with which she has laid the foundations for new ultrafast and energy-efficient data storage technologies.
Nicola Spaldin is the second woman to be awarded the Swiss Science Prize Marcel Benoist in the prize’s nearly 100-year history.
Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin remitted her the prize of CHF 250,000 in a ceremony in Bern, on 7 November.
