Laying of the corner stone for the New large-scale research facility SwissFEL at PSI

This past summer, the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) laid the corner stone for its new large-scale research facility called SwissFEL. This event was attended by 130 guests from politics, science and industry. Thanks to SwissFEL, researchers will track ultra-rapid processes, such as the formation of new molecules during chemical reactions, determine the detailed structure of essential proteins and clarify the precise behaviour of materials.
