PhD position, Nanooptics group, DQMP, University of Geneva

A PhD position is open starting from September 2025 in the Nanooptics group of the  Department of Quantum Matter Physics (DQMP) of the University of Geneva (Switzerland). We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a Master degree in physics and desire to work in a modern optics laboratory.

The project focuses on scanning-probe near-field infrared and terahertz optical studies of quantum materials, including 2D van der Waals crystals and functional oxide hetero-structures. It also involves extensive electromagnetic and microscopic simulations and modelling.
